Kasturi Haldar, Editor-in-Chief of PLOS Pathogens, is the Julius Nieuwland Chair of Biological Sciences and Parsons-Quinn Director of the Center for Rare and Neglected Diseases, University of Notre Dame, which supports private public partnerships and drug discovery in rare and neglected diseases, including malaria. She serves on the Expert Scientific Advisory Board of Medicines for Malaria Venture and review panels of the National Institutes of Health. She has received research funding from both organizations and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
