UK Synthetic Genomes Course 2016

From Sunday July 3rd to Saturday July 9th of this year, the University of Edinburgh, Imperial College London and the BBSRC are hosting a 5-day workshop (the Synthetic Genomes Conference + a 2-day international conference (the annual Sc2.0) in Edinburgh, UK. The course is suitable for people in research, industry, students, people in DIYBio and more.

The course will consist of a hands-on workshop taught by international experts covering recent breakthroughs in synthetic biology and synthetic genomes, including synthetic chromosome design and assembly, CRISPR-mediated genome engineering, SCRaMbLE-mediated synthetic genome rearrangement, and more. Furthermore, the 5th annual Sc2.0 conference includes major speakers in synthetic biology and yeast research, including Jef Boeke from NYU, Jim Collins from MIT and HMS, Pam Silver from HMS, Jasper Rine from UC Berkeley, and more.

The cost of the course is £420 and covers accommodation, meals, and attendance for both the workshop and the conference. There are also a limited amount of travel awards and bursaries available.
