PLoS UK office has moved

The PLoS U.K. office is now located in new digs in “Carlyle House” just a 10 minute walk away from our existing location and close to the city center.

The distance between the two locations may be small but the difference between them is huge. The new premises are nearly 70% bigger which gives the team breathing space, makes it easier for U.S. colleagues to visit, increases the number of meeting rooms and provides room to accommodate more people as we continue to expand.

All these benefits pale in significance, however, when compared to the fact that the new offices have more than one toilet, not accessed via the kitchen, with separate facilities for men and women. In the U.S. office, we’ve had multiple bathrooms for some time and so we are somewhat baffled at the euphoria of our U.K. colleagues at this plumbing miracle but we are happy for them nonetheless!

A new internet and phone system has been installed to increase our bandwidth and connectivity by Josh, our ever resilient and resourceful Systems Administrator, who has been working very hard to provide us with systems that will meet our needs now and for the years ahead.

Since we’re an online only publisher, our physical location is mostly only relevant to our staff, people who are visiting us or anyone who wants to send us snail mail. From Monday 18th October 2010 our contact details are as follows (please note that all our contact numbers have changed as well as our address):
