Cool piece. I think you’ll find that nearly all scientists are happy to help out when people dont understand things. The way we write is necessarily terse and “scientific”, because its the only way to convey exactly what an experiment showed. You dont want to get into the position where someone says “I think he meant that”, you want “he thinks this”.
Perhaps all Journalists should be paired with a science advisor, and all scientists should be paired with a journalistic advisor. I’m sure we could all learn a lot from each other.
