Rob Carlson is a physicist, bioentrepreneur, consultant, author, and serious – very serious – advocate of synthetic biology. And next Friday, January 30th, he will join us at 10:00 AM PST (1:00 PM EST/6:00 PM GMT) for an hour of live, online conversation.
We’ll be getting Dr. Carlson’s thoughts on what he has seen from synthetic biology and what he sees coming. He will also be discussing his latest work founding the firm Bioeconomy Capital: why he decided to jump into funding early-stage biotech and where he hopes to go with it.

Here’s the great thing, though. While Dr. Carlson will be giving us an overview from his side of things, we’re also opening up the floor to you. So, for the next week and a half, send in your questions for Dr. Carlson and we’ll cover as many as we can during our conversation on the 30th. You can either send us a note at SynbioCommunity@plos.org or tweet us @PLOSSynbio. If you do the latter, be sure to include #CarlsonChat. We’ll use that same hashtag during the conversation, so be sure to follow along.
Lastly, stay tuned for the details on how to watch our conversation with Dr. Carlson live. We’ll post that information here and on Twitter.
See you on the 30th!
