Global health research survey: Who is healthier?

A survey launched yesterday – the “Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2010 Health Measurement Survey” is aiming to get 50, 000 people to participate, looking at attitudes to health of individuals.  The survey is sponsored as part of the Global Burden of Disease study by the  Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington in conjunction with Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Queensland, and the World Health Organization .

The organisers of the study say that by participating  “you will contribute to the scientific understanding of global health problems and ultimately enable policymakers and health care leaders to make better decisions based on a stronger evidence base. Summary survey results will be posted online at www.healthmetricsandevaluation.org upon completion of the study in spring 2011.”
