The response to PLoS Pathogens’ new Pearls has been terrific. We are grateful to the authors who accepted our invitation to contribute the first Pearls and look forward to publishing these articles over the next few months. As planned, we are now opening up the process and are seeking ideas for Pearls from the wider pathogens community.
