The Reality of Obesity in Canada

At the National Obesity Summit yesterday Dr Yoni Freedoff and colleagues unveiled the new “Reality Coalition“, a not-for-profit “designed to campaign for realistic, evidence-based approaches to weight management and prevention in Canada”.  I have included two videos below – a short clip of Dr Freedhoff summarizing why the coalition is needed (“we’re always dialoguing… but there’s not enough action”), and a longer clip from the Reality Coalition session itself.  The first clip was recorded by Dr Paul Boisvert, and I believe the second was recorded by the Canadian Obesity Network’s Brad Hussey.  

The coalition hopes to publish their first report in the next month, and I’m sure that Yoni will also keep everyone updated regularly through his blog Weighty Matters.  The Reality Coalition website can be found here.
