Ape Portraits

The Daily Mail has a fabulous series of “primate portraits” that feature apes, up close and personal. The eight featured photos were taken by German photographer Volker Gutgesell, who has zoomed in on gorillas, orangutans and bonobos at the Frankfurt Zoo over the past four years.

The portrait to the right is Galdikas, a resident orangutan at Frankfurt.
