Three new articles published this week in PLoS Medicine, including two research articles:
Hans Verhoef and colleagues report findings from their randomized trial among Tanzanian children at high risk for malaria in which children received daily oral supplementation with either zinc alone, multi-nutrients without zinc, multi-nutrients with zinc, or placebo. No evidence was found that zinc or multi-nutrients protected against malaria episodes.
Mona Loutfy and colleagues used focus groups to examine experiences of stigma and coping strategies among HIV-positive women in Ontario, Canada.
Taghi Yasamy and colleagues identify challenges facing good research governance in low- and middle-income countries and provide suggestions for a way forward.
